CHIOMA EZE
Global Ambassador - The Child Liberation Foundation
CHIÕMA [pronounced chee-yoh-ma] may not yet be a well-known name stateside, but that’s certainly about to change with the release of her single “Born to Fly” from her full-length album tentatively of the same name. Already considered a star and a household name around various parts of the globe, Chioma was born in Nigeria and currently resides in New York City.
Upon her arrival to the U.S., Chioma wasted no time in pursuit of her dream to be a successful recording artist. This endeavor did not come without its challenges, as she found herself homeless once. It was her faith and the power of music that kept her inspired and focused.
Chioma wrote her first song in Germany at the early age of 8 and started singing at 13. She is credited as a Grammy-nominated singer, producer and songwriter, who has worked with the likes of Darius Rucker, Stevie Wonder, Kumi Koda, Sting, Shaggy, and Euge Groove. She’s even opened for Janet Jackson in China at a special concert event.
Chioma has also collaborated with a bevy of top producers from Howard Benson-(Kelly Clarkson, Bon Jovi, Santana, Rascal Flatts, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias), to Vassal Benford (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklixn, Alicia Keys, Diplo), to Tim Kelley of Tim and Bob (Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Lionel Richie).
As an artist, vocalist and songwriter, Chioma is highly influenced by a diverse range of talents which include Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Aretha Franklin. Her most defining moment was being mentored by the former President of Motown Records, the late great Jheryl Busby. It was Mr. Busby’s constant words of encouragement that assisted in shaping and molding Chioma into the savvy artist, songwriter, creative visionary and businesswoman that she is to this day.Chioma is a household name throughout much of Europe. Among her hit songs are the ballads, “Du Es Im Hogin,” and “Qez Sirum em /Forever,” the latter winning Chioma the Armenian Viewer’s Choice Award. Both songs were composed by Armenia’s hit producer Aram Avagyan and co-written by Chioma. Satenik Torosyan also co-wrote lyrics with Chioma on “Du Es I’m Hogin”
Chioma has had the opportunity of singing some of her songs in various languages: English, Spanish, Hebrew to name a few. In addition to the international power ballads which have made her famous, Chioma is a supporter and performer of the Afrobeat genre, a sound sweeping the world, and derived from her birthplace of Nigeria.
Chioma is always ahead of the curb. She is a very self-contained artist when it comes to creating magic in the studio—collaborating with fashion designers for her signature look and style—down to which photographers she employs—and choosing the best musicians for her band.
She has a keen ear, a compassionate heart and always pays close attention to detail. Armed with all these traits, Chiõma hopes to inspire audiences of all ages, worldwide.
Lastly, Chioma is a philanthropist and is a global ambassador of the Child Liberation Foundation- an organisation that rescues trafficked children and a cause very close to her heart and for which she wrote her next single Just Hold On.
